"Mach 13 Elephant Explosion" by Masafumi Takada
BRIEF HISTORY -
The man, the myth, the monster. Mushigihara was a sumo competitor before he took to the squared circle, and in fact, “Mushigihara” was his shikona, or ring name, from that bygone time. After he retired from the sport due to injuries, internal politics, and the impending scandal that shook the world of sumo to its core, he took to professional wrestling. He dropped a considerable amount of weight, developed a style that fit his massive frame, and has had success, mainly as a tag team specialist, though he did win the 2018 Iron Road tournament, as well as the MAX-J Heavyweight Championship.
PREVIOUS INJURIES -
None.
SPORTSMANSHIP -
The thrill of battle and the challenge of the sport of wrestling thrills him. He may be surly at times and a bit of a grump, but he's all about the fight.
STYLE -
Mushi’s style is heavily influenced by King’s Road, the style of professional wrestling that was developed in All Japan in its prime. This particular style draws heavily from Southern-style (US) wrestling, with emphasis on storytelling and toughness. Mushi in particular is inspired by Jumbo Tsuruta and Genichiro Tenryu, themselves both former sumo wrestlers before embracing the squared circle.
