SAM HEWITT
Hello wrestling fans and welcome to Wrestling from the Lion's Road! The biggest news coming out of last week is that we have a new King of Lions - the World's Heavyweight title changed hands and Jack Mace sits atop the mountain now.
BRIAN SHELZI "The Wrestling Bear"... oy, that's gonna be something.SAM HEWITT Slightly unconventional, maybe. But over the last several months, we've seen Mace wow our audiences with fight after fight. He prides himself on competition above all else and there's no doubt in anyone's mind that he EARNED that Championship! BRIAN SHELZI He absolutely did. He wrestled a great match and despite David Troy having the experience advantage, Mace earned it fairly… but I gotta wonder what this means for the House of Dante. You can shake off a loss, but shaking off a CHAMPIONSHIP loss… whole other story.SAM HEWITT Indeed. But right now, Jack Mace has requested this time and right now, we're going to the ring to hear live from our NEW World's Heavyweight Champion… Jack Mace!"Born to be Wild" by Slayer plays and out from the back comes the LARGE Brit! Only the second Englishman to hold the coveted prize after Ben Chrenshaw, the burly man in the dark blue suit, tied-back dirty blonde hair and a big-ass miles-wide grin on his face walks out! He holds out the title and then heads to the ring with the gold over his shoulder. He gets into the ring and when his music grows quiet, he lets out a soft chuckle. JACK MACE Oi! Well, lookee here, mates…He shows off the title for the camera. JACK MACE I'm one of the biggest mates in this blinkin' fed… and even thought I was the only guy to pin him in LRX, Davey Boy beat me right back. Based on that, Ol' Jackie had only a small shot to beat me mate, David Troy. He kept on tellin' me it wasn't gonna be my time. And I know he meant well. He knows the organization inside and out and has been the standard bearer for a long time whether he held this belt or otherwise…Looking at the title some more, Mace smiles. JACK MACE Now look… I owe David Troy and Eddie Dante a lot. They're the men who introduced me to this little place called Lion's Road X while I was competin' down in Louisiana for my other wrasslin' place of business. Eddie and Moosh have been nothing but good to me. But I knew when this match was made, that if I DIDN'T come at Troy with everyone I had… it would've made this piece of gold worthless. THIS is what we fight for! THIS is what we are here to be! CHAMPION!He holds the title upwards. JACK MACE NOTHIN' is more important than this! And now, I'M on top! Don't ANYONE tell Ol' Jackie what he can't do!His voice booms! JACK MACE Now, it's no secret, I ain't all fancy like a lotta the time. But this title… this responsibility I now carry on my shoulders I take it very seriously, mates. So now that I'm Champion, I'm challenging YOU, the locker room. I don't care who ya THINK you are… line up! Just like I had ta fight to prove I could win this, I'll fight the WHOLE LOT OF YA to prove I'm worthy enough to keep it! I'll...Mace is immediately cut off by the familiar drumming, clapping, and triumphant horns of The Heavy’s “Same Ol’,” as the man he defeated for the King of Lions World’s Heavyweight Championship slowly walks out. SAM HEWITT And here comes the former World’s Heavyweight Champion, and it seems he’s not pleased!Indeed, as David Troy advances to the ring, his injured arm is in a sling, and he is clearly in no condition to throw down, but the look on his face suggests he doesn’t care. Mace is staring daggers at the former champion, while their mutual manager and friend Eddie Dante looks on. Troy climbs into the ring, before marching right up to the new champion’s face and stopping right before him as “Same Ol’” stops. Troy unceremoniously pulls the KOL title belt off Mace’s shoulder, placing it on his own, before reaching for the microphone in Jack’s hand. Jack resists Troy this time, pushing up into his face, prompting Troy to snap a glance at Dante. Mace looks towards the manager of the God-Bears, who looks back at his client and nods. Jack lets go of the microphone, and Troy breaks the silence. DAVID TROY A promise… is a promise.SAM HEWITT Come to think of it, fans, last week David DID say that he would personally wrap that belt around Mace’s waist if he beat him for it...He hands the microphone back to the champion, before using his good hand to pull the belt off, and stares at it longingly for a moment… before lowering it to Mace’s waist, and reaching around with even his restrained hand, to snap wrestling’s richest prize around its rightful owner. The champion is slightly surprised, as David Troy finishes the job and pats him on the back, smiling. He then signals for the mic back, and once he gets it, he follows up. DAVID TROY Lion’s Road… your heavyweight champion of the world; Jack Mace. With a smile and a nod, David departs the ring, signalling for the crowd to applaud their champion. With little fanfare, and his promise fulfilled, the three-time former King of Lions walks away from the arena, at least for now.

The cameras cut to a vast open park, settled right next to a large city. The tall buildings can be seen in the background and from the general emptiness of the park and patches of snow on the ground, it looks to be a cold morning. There's a single male, dressed in a black winter coat and dark sunglasses, walking down one of the paths, his breath visible in the air. It's none other than "The Absolute" Austin Anderson, manager of the Standard. He looks around the park and makes his way down to a partially frozen pond and old wooden bench. He takes a seat before he begins to speak.
AUSTIN ANDERSON There has been a lot of talk lately about what the Standard stands for. What is our purpose? What is our goal? Well, it's simple really. We want to be the best and to prove to every single person attending the shows, viewing the videos or simply discussing the results on the internet boards that the Standard reigns supreme. We are constantly training, working on various techniques and moves, doing everything in our power to make sure when presented with the opportunity to prove our self-worth, we take full advantage of the chance and leave little question to who the Standard is. Anderson leans back and takes in the moment, absorbing the cold air. AUSTIN ANDERSON Joe Bailey, Josh Williams and Luke Marshall are three men who share this ideology and this belief. We are not going to sit there and scream about our greatness. No, we are going to demonstrate our worth between the ropes. Each one of those men represent something unique and special in the world of professional wrestling. Joe Bailey was trained by one of the greatest tag teams the wrestling world has ever seen, in the Dynasty. Josh Williams is one of the best technicians in the game today and Luke Marshall is easily the top rookie prospect going right now. These three men are going to change professional wrestling as we know it. It's only a matter of time before the fans and the internet boards have countless posts and discussions about the Standard. We are the measuring stick on how professional wrestling should be. We are the Standard and we will give you three options now: tap out, pass out or laid out. Your choice, folks. Your choice. The cameras slowly fade out as Austin continues to take in the scenery as we cut back to ringside.
Luke Marshall had both teams believing that the match was over within seconds, as he came storming out of the gate against Mushigihara and nailed him with the Freight Train tackle. With the sumo stunned, Marshall grabbed him up and planted him with a spinning brainbuster! The Standard hit the ring and intercepted AJ Knight and Jeremy Squire as a three count was made. However, Robbie Morris saw Mushi's foot on the bottom rope and realized his error. Hewitt and Shelzi ran a replay and Mushi's foot got on there just before the three and it was most certainly his own doing, not Eddie Dante's at ringside. So the match continued, Mushigihara dismantled Marshall - furious at almost being beaten within seconds of the match starting. Bailey and Williams worked over AJ Knight, trying to make themselves $25,000 richer courtesy of Darnell Cane. Jeremy Squire got the hot tag and ran amuck with the spirit of every 80s white meat babyface, delivering dropkicks left and right. Luke Marshall lariated him from behind, which led to a final showdown between he and Mushigihara ahead of their match in Marshall's Trial Series. Mushi tried for the uranage, but Marshall elbowed his way free and hit him with a lariat. He tried for the Green and Gold Bomb, his Last Ride-style powerbomb but Mushi powered out and backdropped his foe. After the setup, Mushi hoisted Marshall up for the torture rack but the Aussie slipped out and scored with the Michinoku Driver - taking home a huge win ahead of their singles match.

Scene.
Rain Corvin standing in front of the camera, behind him, vast field.
“.. I thought you were better than that, Ke´ala!
Is that all you can muster? Excuses?
Aren´t you supposed to be the hero here? Ain´t I supposed to be the bad guy who finds excuses for his shortcomings? Aren´t you supposed to be the straight shooter here, Jonah? The good guy who, after many exasperating attempts, manages to get atop of the mountain by skill and bravery alone? The one who doesn´t need excuses for his achievements and victories?
You aren´t doing that, though, all you are doing is finding a way out of your shortcomings against me, by calling Samuels into the action. That is all you are doing, because you can´t change the facts. The facts though, speak for themselves. I faced you twice, I beat your sorry ass twice..
..Why would the third time be different?
But it actually is different!
Why? Because there is this here on the line.”
Corvin pats the belt, thrown over his right shoulder
“Now, I have said it before and I will say it again. I don´t give a shit about belts!
But, I do hunger for great action, and being the holder of this one here, calls forth great action and adversaries. Are you that, Ke´ala? A great adversary? Can you muster all your bravery and might and become a threat for the champion?
If you are the one who is bound to dethrone me, though, you need much more than brawn. You need brain. And as they say: You can be an idiot when you lead an honest life, but to be a crook you need brain! And you Ke´ala you are such an honest boy…
..Did you see what I did there? Got it?
I guess not.
It doesn´t matter, anyway, Jonah.
I dare you to bring out the beast in you, because sure as hell I won´t be holding back. I never have in my entire fighting career. It didn´t matter who was standing in front of me, I always gave one hundred percent. That is because I love to fight. I live for the fight. I crave for absolute action.
That is why I hold onto this one belt here.
That is why I will raise high in the ranks of the universe they call professional wrestling. Because I am a fighter, born, and I love the taste of blood and the adrenaline rush that comes with great fights. I will hold onto this belt here for as long as it allows me to experience the wonders of a great clash between heroic adversaries.
Then I will move on
…Onto greener pastures.
Today this belt here. Tomorrow the World´s Heavyweight Champion!
You say it is too much? You think I am going way over my head? And why would that be so?
Haven´t I proved again and again, since we got in Lions Road, that I can fight against the best and hold my own? Haven´t the facts proven again and again that I can emerge victorious, when a victory is what´s needed the most?
I ask you again: Why would tonight be a different story?
You go and anger yourself over the fact that I treat you like dirt. That I talk to you like you´re the shit on the bottom of my shoe, and you fail to see that one important thing: I am your own mirror! I am a mirror for each and every one of my adversaries. If I treat you like dirt…
…That’s because you aren´t much more worth than dirt!
You think you´re not that? Prove it to me Ke´ala. Prove to me that you´re championship material. If you go out there and fight your soul out, if you walk into that ring and spit blood and sweat and manage to involve me in a fight for the ages, then maybe, just maybe I might rethink the fact that you´re not much more worth than dog shit, as far as I am concerned.
You see, Ke´ala, I am a fighting champion. People might say a lot of bad things about me, but they must agree for two things:
One, I am a great fighter.
Two, I always speak up my mind.
Three, I respect great fights and grand fighters.
So, if you think I am treating you like shit, do not cry me a river about it. Stand up and do something. Be the man you want people to think you are.
You have ONE chance to prove yourself out there.
Do not waste it!
Bring it. Chump."
The camera makes its way backstage. Pacing backstage in an empty hallway is none other than the challenger for the Prince of Lions Championship in just mere moments, Jonah Ke'ala. The Mauler from Maui continues readying himself before LRX interviewer Becky Chande approaches. BECKY CHANDE Jonah?Jonah stops. JONAH KE'ALA What can I do for you, Miss Chande? BECKY CHANDE Coming up shortly, you have your first chance at a singles title against Rain Corvin. After everything that you have been through in the last few months between making the Iron Road finals and your wars with Ryan Samuels, are you fully prepared for tonight? He nods approvingly. JONAH KE'ALA 100% I am ready. Samuels tested my physical and my mental limits week in and week out. "Dumb pineapple" dis. "Hit me over de head with ring bell" dat! Every which way but loose, I got my ass KICKED by dat man. But I didn't STAY down. Because the second you STAY down, dat means you might as well… excuse my tongue but, you might as well pack your shit and go home! Lion's Road X is now my home, but I SHOWED dat I am no one's doormat. He presses on. JONAH KE'ALA In dat bullrope match, I settled one grudge. I put dat big-ass bastard in my rear view and tonight, Miss Chande, I'm gonna settle another. And if I may, I'd like tHe now turns to the camera JONAH KE'ALA Rain… twice, we have been on opposite sides of dat ring and twice, your arm was raised for one reason or another. You've belittled my beliefs. You've belittled my reasons for being in dis business. You've belittled everything about me any time my name has come up, but I made you a promise dat I fully intend on keeping. Remember what dat was?He grins. JONAH KE'ALA Oh, bruddah, you'll pretend you forgot so I'll remind you. I told you de next time you see me, you best walk de other way because I was not gonna forgive de horrific things you've said about my late sister, who I've dedicated dis career to… like it was a clever punchline. Tonight, dere's no Ryan Samuels to help you win, Rain. Tonight, you make think dat you're gonna get an easy win, but when it's ME standing over YOU with de Prince of Lions Championship in my hands...He turns to Becky Chande and balls a fist before he JONAH KE’ALA Bruddah, tonight, you're gonna realize de joke's on YOU.He storms off, right past Becky Chande. BECKY CHANDE Folks, let's get to ringside.

Referee Jerry Roberts calls for the bell to begin our second ever Prince of Lions, U30 World Championship title bout. Ke'ala charges out, but stops short and that's just as well as Corvin goes for an axe kick and smiles. Ke'ala bulls him, grappling him into the ropes. Roberts calls for a clean break and the Mauler from Maui gives it to him, patting Corvin on the chest while giving him a look that cannot say anything but "you're dead!". Corvin smiles and gets off the ropes, he invites a tie-up and the two lock-up. Corvin, the taller and lighter of the two manages to back Ke'ala up against the ropes. The champion doesn't immediately break at Roberts' request, opting instead to talk some trash which prompts Ke'ala to shove him. Corvin responds with a slap! Ke'ala grabs him and slings him around, putting him up against the ropes and tees off! He lights up the champion with some knife edge chops, then tries for a headbutt but Corvin slips out and heads back to the centre of the ring and invites the fired up Hawaiian to meet him there.
BRIAN SHELZI Say everything you want about Rain Corvin, but you can't tell me this guy doesn't back up his words. You don't see this guy running away from the fight. Here he is in the heat of the battle with a fired up Hawaiian and he's egging him on. Most fighters would dash out of the ring after this, trying to frustrate their opponent... but Corvin? He's ready to fight!
SAM HEWITT Corvin is among the youngest fighters here in Lion's Road. Part of me wonders if that's youthful exuberance, or if he's yet to shake that notion of invincibility that we all once had.
Ke'ala seemingly recognizes this is a trap and approaches slowly, Corvin says something else that sets him off and he drives forward. Corvin doesn't get a chance to move as he's tackled to the mat. Corvin rolls into the corner and sits up, taking his time to return back to his feet. Corvin grabs the top rope on either side of the turnbuckle and pulls himself up, but Ke'ala sends him right back down with a headbutt! Roberts grabs Ke'ala by the waist and nearly chucks him down to the mat as he tries to break the two up. He reasons with Ke'ala, saying he has to check Corvin out and begin a ten count and that the challenger cannot interrupt it without being disqualified. Ke'ala lets out a deep breath and backs up. Corvin gets the OK from Roberts, who backs up and begins counting. The champion checks his head for blood as he gets up, chastising Roberts for allowing the challenger to attack while he's on the ropes. Ke'ala taunts him from across the ring. The two men circle and Corvin tries a back kick, but Ke'ala catches it and tries to turn it into his high-angle backdrop suplex. Corvin contorts and Ke'ala settles for a Samoan drop!
SAM HEWITT Ke'ala reaches back, hooks the le--only two!
Ke'ala goes to pull Corvin up, but a quick knee changes things. Corvin blasts him with some kicks that back him up into the ropes and whips him into the opposite set. On the return, a rolling savate kick finds its mark. Ke'ala stumbles back into the corner and Corvin sizes him up...
SUPERKICK TO THE BODY!
Ke'ala absorbs the blow and the look on his face details how uncomfortable it is.
CORVIN DELIVERS A SECOND!
With Ke'ala slumped down to one winded sucking wind, Corvin grabs him in a waist hold and hucks him up... and back down! A sitout powerbomb! He holds it for the pin!
1...
...
2...
...
3-NO!
Ke'ala kicks out just in time. Corvin pulls him up and directs some kicks in the high rent district, aiming for the throat. He chucks Ke'ala into the ropes again, but this time tries for a spinebuster! He gets Ke'ala up, but the challenger bonks the champion with a headbutt. With Corvin staggered, Ke'ala charges for a tackle. Corvin doubles over, Ke'ala goes sailing over but has enough wherewithal to grab a hold of him and performs a pretty rudimentary sunset flip.
1...
...
2-NO!
Corvin kicks out and immediately rolls backwards, pops up and dropkicks Ke'ala in the face! He hurries to his feet, smacking the challenger with another kick directed at the throat. This one puts Ke'ala on the middle rope, Corvin smirks and mimics Ke'ala's fired up chopfest from earlier! Ke'ala drops to the mat and Corvin walks away laughing as Roberts checks on the challenger.
BRIAN SHELZI Sambo, I can't get over how good this kid is. You don't win a championship at 20 in a promotion like Lion's Road without being something special and beyond the striking ability and fighting IQ, Corvin just has a tremendous ability to be a prick. I love it.
Corvin continues to taunt as Roberts' count reaches five, but the challenger is up at six. Corvin greets him with a quick kick, then whips him off into the opposing ropes. Corvin tries for the Yakuza kick, but Ke'ala catches the foot and spins him around! A guh punch follows and crumples Corvin! Ke'ala pulls him up and powerslams him back down to the mat! He bounds off the ropes and leaps up, falling atop the champion with a senton! He covers!
1...
...
2...
...
3-NO!
Ke'ala rolls Corvin onto his stomach, hooks him in a rear waist hold and hauls him up. He hooks the champ's arm behind his head...
CORVIN PUNCHES HIM IN THE THROAT!
Ke'ala falls over, struggling to breathe as referee Jerry Roberts issues a yellow card. Corvin pays no mind to it, opting instead to superkick Ke'ala and cover him!
1...
...
2-NO!
Corvin shakes his head in disgust at Roberts, then peels Ke'ala off the mat. He nails a quick powerslam, then drops a knee across his throat/upper body. He backs up and climbs on the second turnbuckle and contemplates jumping off, but laughs and hops back down and exits to the apron. He climbs up...
SAM HEWITT It appears the height from the second rope wasn't enough for Rain Corvin, he's going all the way up for whatever he had in mind.
Of course, Corvin isn't really known for this and struggles to maintain his balance up top. This buys Ke'ala a chance and he scurries to his feet, cuts Corvin off and climbs up on the second rope...
AVALANCHE-STYLE SAMOAN DROP!
Both men land hard!
Corvin rolls further away, whether instinctively or accidentally. Ke'ala rolls onto his stomach and crawls, draping an arm over top and then pulling himself onto Corvin's torso.
1...
...
2...
...
3-NO!
Ke'ala rolls off and sets back to his feet.
SAM HEWITT And here is where Ke'ala's warrior spirit shines. A lesser man would've complained about the count but Ke'ala's right back to his feet and ready to fight.
Ke'ala clubs him a few times as he pulls him to his feet then wearily places him against the ropes. Corvin is shot out and on the return, Ke'ala attempts the spinning side slam but the champion manages to slip out. He grabs him...
SPINS...
BLUE THUNDER BOMB!
He holds for the cover!
1...
...
2...
...
3-NO!
Corvin curses Roberts and grabs Ke'ala in a front chancery and...
GETS SHOVED INTO THE TURNBUCKLES!
Ke'ala breaks free and dashes into the ropes, picking up speed for the Ihe...
CORVIN DROPKICKS HIS KNEE!
Ke'ala lands throat first across the middle rope!
The champion grabs him, hoists him up...
DROPS HIM ACROSS THE TOP ROPE THROAT FIRST!
As Ke'ala staggers around, Corvin blindsides him with a Yakuza kick! Fade to Black!
He covers!
1...
...
2...
...
3!
Corvin rolls out of the ring immediately, grabs his belt and tells the camera that he knew Ke'ala would "choke" and smiles before turning up the entrance aisle. Ke'ala is tended to by the dojo students and medics, ensuring he didn't damage his throat in the closing sequence.
BRIAN SHELZI What did I say, Sambo? Rain Corvin is something special.
SAM HEWITT So too is Jonah Ke'ala, I can't speak enough praise about him. Even in a defeat like this, Ke'ala shows a lot of fire and promise. He's 26 years old, but this is only his fourth year in the sport and he seems to be getting better and better with every match.
BRIAN SHELZI You're not wrong, but as kids these days need to learn - there's always someone better than you and for Jonah Ke'ala, that person is Rain Corvin.
Ke'ala gets up under his own power and receives a round of applause from the dojo students as we go to break.

Darnell Cane stormed backstage, absolutely livid that another group failed to make good on AJ Knight's bounty. He pounded on the locker room door, which swung open to reveal AJ Knight. Felix Bingham and Justin Seville attacked him, but Jeremy Squire leapt out of the bathroom to help even the odds. Cane threw a powder in Squire's eyes, but the commotion caught the attention of Mushigihara who came storming down the hallway - already pissed off about his loss to Luke Marshall - and helped clear house. Knight yelled after them, offering a match to Seville - LOSER LEAVES TOWN. Seville turned away, uninterested but Cane happily accepted the challenge on behalf of his client and the trio left with Seville and Cane arguing. Knight thanked Mushi and Sam Hewitt reminded viewers that these two were a team in Maximum Japan Pro-Wrestling, but wondered how such an alliance would work in LRX with David Troy around.

The cameras cut backstage and we find the classic LRX backdrop and a hyped up "Midwest Nightmare" Ryan Samuels pacing back and forth. Decked out in his best-looking black cowboy hat and leather vest, Ryan has his trusted bull rope thrown over his shoulder. He seems fired up and ready for battle.
RYAN SAMUELS
Hot damn! It's almost time, folks! It's almost time for Lariat Inc to finally get the re-match we so rightfully deserve against those losers the Burning Hammers. Last time we ended up in the ring together, y'all pulled off some trickery and cost us the match and you can bet your bottom dollar that it ain't gonna fly again tonight! No sir, tonight's the night that Lariat Inc takes their spot as the best tag team on the Lion's Road. We are the two biggest and baddest fellas in this company today! This is our time, dammit!
Ryan is so fired-up, bits of chew are dripping down the sides of his mouth and flying out as he yells and hollers.
RYAN SAMUELS I god damn refuses to let a loss to that idiot Jonah Ke'ala keep me from my shot, my god damn chance at shutting all you moron fans up, once and for all. Everyone keeps talkin' about how Ke'ala beat me in my own match and how he finally shut me up. Well I am sick and tired of hearin' about this! Ke'ala may have won the battle but god dammit, I'm gonna win the war. Next time I stand across the ring from you, Jonah. It's gonna be the last time you are ever in a wrestling ring. I promise you that.
You can practically see the steam coming from Samuels' ears as he speaks about his war with Jonah Ke'ala.
RYAN SAMUELS But for now, I am focusin' in on those tag team titles and on you boys, Hammer and Edwards. Tonight, we are gonna dance and at the end of the night, Lariat Inc is gonna be walkin' to the bars with those shiny tag team titles thrown over our shoulders. I'm done with all the talk about Ryan Samuels not bein' able to back up his tough man talk. I'll show you all that I am the Midwest Nightmare and I am not someone to mess with! Hot Damn!
With that, Ryan shoves the camera down to the ground and storms off as we cut back to ringside.
The camera is focused on the Lions Road World Tag Team Championship belts. As the camera zooms out, it shows James Edwards and Jacob Hammerstein, The Burning Hammers, holding the titles in their grasp. Judging by the looks on their faces, both men are all business. The American Monster takes a half step towards the camera. HAMMERSTEIN Ryan Samuels and Mack Brody, do y'all remember The Strongest Tag League tournament? I do, vaguely…. maybe all the chairshots are finally catching up with me…. the ratio of dead brain cells to livin' may be tippin' in the wrong direction, I dunno….Hammerstein looks at Edwards, who just shrugs. The American Monster also shrugs, then continues. HAMMERSTEIN ...but if my memory is correct, we beat five teams, that had some of the baddest men walkin' The Road in them. The American Monster holds his right fist up to the camera, then sticks his index finger up. HAMMERSTEIN ONE... Jason Cashe... the guy who won The Strong Style Summit and Scott Sterling… kicked their asses and ran both their asses clean off the Road.Hammerstein sticks his middle finger up. HAMMERSTEIN TWO... AJ Knight, two time King of Lions and Jeremy Squire… kicked their asses. He holds up his ring finger. HAMMERSTEIN THREE... Justin Seville...one of the toughest men to walk the Road... and Felix Bingham... kicked their asses. He sticks up his little finger. HAMMERSTEIN FOUR... Mack Brody and Ryan Samuels... Lariat, Inc, the drugstore cowboys themselves…. kicked y'all's asses.Hammerstein finally opens his thumb. HAMMERSTEIN FIVE... Mushigahara and Jack Mace, who just happens to be the current KOL Champion... kicked their asses, and won the tournament and these belts. The World Tag Team Champions clink the belts together, without even looking at each other. HAMMERSTEIN We've successfully defended these belts twice, against some of the best young talent in the sport today. Now, tonight, Lariat, Inc., y'all get another chance to take us out. Don't get me wrong. Drugstore Cowboys crack aside, y'all are a couple of tough sonsabitches, and for that y'all have our respect.Hammerstein smiles as Edwards nods in agreement. His smile fades, replaced by a snarl HAMMERSTEIN But don't think for one minute that that respect will prevent me from stompin' your goddamn guts out. We expect no mercy and we sure as hell ain't givin' any. One day we're gonna drop these titles, but today ain't that fuckin' day.
Tell 'em, Edwards. The Burning Heart nods his head and walks forward with a solemn expression on his face. JAMES EDWARDS This fight is one of the biggest of my life for reasons that even you don't know, Hammer.Hammerstein gives Edwards a quizzical look. JAMES EDWARDS It's also a story about the number three, a number that doesn't usually doesn't mean shit outside of church. In LRX it's the record for the number of title defenses for the tag belts. The record held by the Demon Brigade. The same group of assholes that disrespected the belts and this company for over 200 days. I was the guy that lost the fall and the belts….He trails off, almost ashamed to revisit the memory. JAMES EDWARDS The tag belts were never a huge priority back then but they were still part of LRX and championships mean more here than in a lot of other places. Because of me LRX lost a piece of itself. I've never forgiven myself for that. I know it doesn't do me much good but dammit that is how I feel. The Hammer gives him a knowing look.
JAMES EDWARDS And I know you've told me that a million times Jacob, but I can't get over it. Not as long as the record is held by a team that didn't bleed the colors of Lion's Road. We gotta' win tonight, not just to shut up Riel, not just for my redemption, but so we can keep restorin' honor to these titles. No team has defended these titles more regularly than we have. No team in company history has rolled over the division like we have going back to the Strongest Tag League, and no team loves this company more than us. We are the tag team fightin' spirit incarnate and a win tonight makes sure no one can dispute that. The Hammer slaps Edwards on the back. The Grand Slam Champion carries a heavy weight into the main event. Luckily, he doesn't have to shoulder the load alone.

Referee Cordell Garner calls for the bell and things are started off with "Iron" Mack Brody and the "American Monster" Hammerstein. Hammer circles around Brody, standing tall in the centre of the ring and takes a swing at Ryan Samuels as he stands on the apron. Samuels tries to get in, but Garner puts a stop to it. Brody and Hammer finally lock-up and the tag champion snatches a side headlock out of it on the 6'8" / 335lbs man from Fort Worth, Texas. It doesn't take long for Brody to shoot Hammer off into the ropes though, Hammer rebounds and goes for a shoulder block but Brody lets out a roar as he stands tall and invites Hammer to try again. So Hammer does, but Brody cuts him off and lifts him up HIGH with a Gorilla Press! "Iron" shows off his power and carries the 6'2" / 241lbs around like a cruiserweight before dropping him face down on the mat! Brody tags in Samuels as Riel Buck cackles into the camera.
BRIAN SHELZI I can't remember the last time I saw someone manhandle Hammerstein like that! Maybe Kraken?
SAM HEWITT It would have to be. Lion's Road hasn't always been the land of the giants, but since our relaunch in September - our heavyweights have gotten bigger and badder. No doubt about that.
BRIAN SHELZI It might've changed history if the likes of Brody and Samuels were around to compete with Black Lion's Road!
Samuels comes in and collects Hammer off the mat, chucking him into Lariat, Inc's corner. He goes in as Brody backs off and delivers a punch to the stomach, then a knee! He backs up at Garner's request, but Brody grabs Hammer and gives him a big wallop from behind. Hammer staggers out and Samuels scoops him up and slams him down! Samuels points to Edwards and drops an elbow down across Hammer's sternum and covers!

2-NO!
Hammer tries to get up and fight back, but Samuels drives him back into the turnbuckle and wraps his arms around the Monster's waist - then pulls him back into the centre of the ring with a bear hug! Hammer attempts to fight back, driving the point of his elbow into the bridge of Samuels' nose but he adjusts his grip and squeezes tighter! Hammer tries to unclasp Samuels' hands, but all he does is turn himself around in the grip. Samuels tries to execute a German suplex, but Hammer blocks it and catches Samuels' with an elbow! The Midwest Nightmare is spun around, clutching his face and Hammer tries to slap on the rear naked choke...
AND DOES!
Unfortunately, Samuels makes a tag to Mack Brody that Hammer doesn't see. Hammer yanks Samuels back into the middle of the ring and falls on his back, wrapping his legs around. Brody comes in and stomps on Samuels' head, effectively headbutting Hammerstein!
SAM HEWITT Fans, if you had any doubts about Lariat, Inc and what they're willing to do to their opponents... well, your eyes did not deceive you. Mack Brody just stomped his own partner in the face so he'd headbutt Hammerstein.
Samuels has to be yanked off of Hammerstein by Brody, which gives the champion a chance to roll and tag in the Burning Heart. Despite giving up nearly a foot in height, Edwards comes right into the ring without hesitation. He circles around Brody, who's once again set in the dead centre of the ring. Brody grows impatient of Edwards' tactical approach and lunges at him, but the Burning Heart is much too quick and "Iron" misses the former Iron Champion and finds nothing but ropes. Edwards leaps up and delivers a knee with the aid of the ropes, catching Brody in the face! Brody doubles over and Edwards smashes his palm into his head multiple times, staggering the big man some more. Edwards quickly tags out to Hammer, then grabs a hold of Brody as Hammer gets in. The duo Irish whip Brody, then on the return... Hammer delivers a spinebuster and Edwards immediately double stomps Brody! Edwards exits as Brody sits up, reeling from the stomp. Hammer yanks him up and stuffs him between his legs...
PILEDRIVER!
He covers!
1-NO!
SAM HEWITT He just kicked out at one!
BRIAN SHELZI Yeah, I sa-
SAM HEWITT He just kicked out of a piledriver... at one, Brian!
BRIAN SHELZI Damn it, Sambo, I saw it. I don't believe it either but I saw it!
Samuels retreats back to his corner having come in with the intent of breaking up the pin, but clearly his service wasn't needed. Hammerstein questions Garner and then looks at Edwards, who has no earthly explanation. Riel Buck can only laugh on the floor. He pulls Brody up, who punches him in the stomach and delivers a piledriver of his own! He covers!
1-NO!
Brody isn't impressed, Hammerstein tries to sit up but falls back down. Brody drives his forearm into Hammer's face and covers again.

2-EDWARDS BREAKS IT UP!
He grabs Hammer and rolls him over to the corner, then steps out and tags himself in. Brody is up and casually wipes his hands, waiting for the Burning Heart. He storms Edwards as he climbs in, but the grand slam champion does a front roll to avoid it. He pops up, ducks a lariat and grabs the arm - twists it around and tries a mule kick but Brody catches it and chucks Edwards across the ring! Edwards hurriedly climbs to his feet, but did so in the wrong corner and gets avalanche pressed by Brody before he tags in Samuels. Samuels grabs Edwards from the corner and slams his forearm down across his back a few times before attempt a side headlock. He gets it, but is too focused on trash talking Hammerstein who's reaching out for the tag. Edwards slips out and delivers a chop block to Samuels' leg, which cuts him down. Samuels quickly gets back up, but Edwards greets him with a knee strike that keeps him on his knees. Edwards then kicks him directly in the face before tagging in Hammerstein.
SAM HEWITT The Burning Hammers doing an excellent job of keeping each other relatively fresh. If they're going to walk out of here with the victory, I think it's in their best interest to cycle out often.
BRIAN SHELZI One hundred percent. The longer this match goes, the more it favours the champions. The challengers aren't dumb, but you can get so used to steamrolling people that it affects how you fight when you get in there with someone different. That's something I worked on with Hammerstein during my brief stint as his manager. Sure, you can demolish dudes in a minute and a half every outing but what happens when you fight someone you can't demolish that quickly? You get winded and taken into deep waters, so fight conservatively.
Hammerstein comes in and begins peppering Samuels with body shots, then punches to the head. He tries to serve up his overhand right, but Samuels scoop slams him and tags in Brody! Samuels drags Hammer off the mat and whips him into the ropes. Brody steamrolls the former World's Champion with a big boot!
He covers!

Hammer stretches out and tags in Edwards, then clutches onto Brody's boot so the big man can't go anywhere. Edwards comes in and pops off a couple spinning back fists, then finishes the sequence with a spinning back elbow to complete the Triple Play! Hammer rolls out. Edwards covers Brody as he hits the mat!

2-BRODY POWERS OUT!
Brody manages to beat Edwards back to his feet and turns him inside out with a big boot! Edwards is on his hands and knees...
LEG DROP!
Brody flattens Edwards out by dropping his weight on the neck/upper back, then drags him into the corner and tags in Samuels. The Midwest Nightmare sizes up Edwards, stalking him as he tries to return to a vertical base. When he does...

Edwards is ragdolled by the train that just ran him over! Samuels grabs him around the waist...

HAMMER BREAKS IT UP!
He grabs Samuels and roughs him up, delivering shots to the head and body as he backs him up into the corner. He turns around and grabs Edwards, slinging him closer to their corner and hops back out to grab the tag rope. He slaps Edwards' arm and hops back in. Hammer rushes in...
NOBODY HOME!
Samuels moves and Hammer crashes into the corner. Samuels staggers to his feet, turns and grabs Hammer up. Buck grabs Garner's foot and yells at him to get Edwards out of the ring, which of course provides enough of a distraction to get Brody in. Samuels has had Hammer up for the spinebuster/lariat combo for roughly ten seconds and stumbles forward, putting him on the top rope. No matter to Brody, who comes in and lariats the absolute crap out of him! Both Brody and Hammer fall over the top rope and to the floor. Samuels nearly goes too from the force and momentum, but lands relatively safely on the apron. Buck yells at Garner to do his job as Brody stuffs Hammer's body back inside the ring. Samuels doesn't even bother pulling him away from the ropes. Hell, he probably knows he doesn't have to.

Riel Buck grabs the titles from ringside and jumps up and down. Brody snatches one away and roars as he lifts it in the air, Samuels is laying on the mat looking at the lights but when Buck comes in and drops the belt on his chest. He too exerts a loud roar, yelling "HOT DAMN!" and excitedly stumbles to his feet! Edwards is still down in the corner, but has an eye on what's going on. A replay is shown.
SAM HEWITT Samuels hoists Hammer up and it's hard to contribute to exhaustion or design, but he puts Hammer up against the top rope and Brody comes in and obliterates him with that lariat. The move is dangerous enough on its own, but you add in that landing on the cement floor and we could be talking about catastrophic injuries. Not to mention the fact that it's an illegal move! If Riel Buck had not been distracting Cordell Garner, this match would have ended right there by disqualification. You can't throw an opponent over the top rope and that right there was no accident.
BRIAN SHELZI Well, they obviously have some grounds to file an appeal on the decision. I don't believe that Hammer or Edwards are the type to do that, I'm not even sure if Hammerstein is in any shape to even be thinking about that. In fact, I'm going to go down there.
Shelzi leaves his post and rushes to ringside to check on his friend. Brody and Samuels stop in their tracks and look at Buck, who vehemently shakes his head no and to the surprise of everyone - the new tag team champions listen and continue on their way to the back.
SAM HEWITT I don't think ol' Purebred knows just how close he came to Lariat Inc beating him down.
The champs turn and give one last collective roar (and cackle in Buck's case) before leaving. Edwards crawls over to Hammerstein as the medics are putting a neck brace on him and loading him onto the stretcher. Some dojo students grab Edwards and try to help him follow Hammer up the aisle, but he refuses and stubbornly stumbles behind.
SAM HEWITT Not a happy scene to end the program. Regardless of your thoughts on Lariat Inc winning the titles, the method or more than that - it appears that Jacob Hammerstein was injured in that finish. I hope that it is nothing serious. Hammerstein is someone who lives and breathes and bleeds Lion's Road, so to see him taken away like that is a sad scene. I don't have anything more to say, I'm Sam Hewitt and we'll see you again soon.
