SAM HEWITT
Greetings from the Lion's Road! Hello fight fans and welcome to the professional wrestling superleague, I'm Sam Hewitt joined as always by LRX matchmaker Brian Shelzi. Tonight, Brian, the World Tag Team titles are up for grabs in the main event. James Edwards and Jacob Hammerstein, the champions defending against the Standard of Joe Bailey and Josh Williams led of course by their manager Austin Anderson.
BRIAN SHELZI
Anderson calls this a test - win, lose or draw - he sees this as a chance to gauge how far along his team is. They've only had one match here in LRX and they showed chemistry well beyond that, so Anderson got a hold of one of the open contracts that the Burning Hammers have been given out to drum up competition amongst the tag ranks and decided to see how they'd do. Now don't get me wrong, Sambo, upsets can and will happen in this sport... but this could be a case of a manager throwing his clients to the wolves. The champions haven't lost a tag match yet, they ran through the entire Strongest Tag League... thereby establishing themselves as the Strongest Tag Team. They defeated Riel Buck's mercenaries, the Agents of Pain... and tonight they've got the Standard. The odds are not in the challengers' favour, but stranger things have happened.

We've also got a bounty up for grabs. Last week, Justin Seville soundly defeated AJ Knight after some shenanigans and Knight wanted a rematch... but Seville's manager, Darnell Cane refused it and in response - he put a $25,000 bounty on AJ's head. Anyone that can get AJ Knight out of Cane and Seville's hair, so to speak, will get the cash. The first man to step up is Reo Ojima, him and King Kong Seto, his student have come to LRX in hopes of collecting that bounty.

Ojima's a legend, the dude's son - Naoki Ojima may be familiar to fans of Lion's Road and Maximum Japan, but don't expect the same sparkling personality and attitude. Reo Ojima is as grump as they come. King Kong Seto is a former sumo and is still pretty green in a pro-wrestling sense, but we'll see how Ojima's teaching methods have shaped him.

In just a few moments, a triangle match. Felix Bingham will look to bounce back from his recent loss to Rain Corvin, the Prince of Lions Heavyweight Champion when he's thrown in the mix with Steven Christopher and Danny Aguilar. Aguilar was victorious over Christopher last week, but he didn't take that loss very well - he demanded a rematch and well, he got one... kind of.
BRIAN SHELZI
It's a tight schedule. We've only got time for so many matches and rematches just aren't in the cards all the time, I can make exceptions for title bouts because there's a lot on the line in those. I conceded on this one, I want to see what a motivated Christopher can do.
SAM HEWITT
We've got some words to share from Danny Aguilar before that match so let's go to it now.
Danny Aguilar stands against a black backdrop. His entire body is in the camera’s frame. He speaks in voiceover as the camera slowly begins to zoom in.
DANNY AGUILAR
If I was a chef, would I be judged on my appearance or for the taste of the food I create?
A screengrab from the Observer appears on the screen with the headline “Former El Nieto del Super León victorious in Lion’s Road Debut”. The camera has zoomed in closer so Aguilar’s now framed from the knees up. He continues to speak in voiceover.
DANNY AGUILAR
If I was an artist, would I be judged on my appearance or for my technique as I put color onto canvas?
A screengrab from SI appears on the screen with the headline “Super León’s son wrestles in America for the first time”. The camera has zoomed in closer so Aguilar is now framed from the waist up. He continues to speak in voiceover.
DANNY AGUILAR
If I was a musician, would I be judged on my appearance or for the sounds I put together to create song?
A screengrab with several Tweets appears on the screen. “Why isn’t this luchador wearing a mask?” “He’s not as good as his Dad.” “Send him back to México Christopher!” The camera has zoomed in on Aguilar’s face. There’s a quick, almost subliminal cut that shows him wearing his old mask before cutting back to show his face. He continues to speak in voiceover.
DANNY AGUILAR
I am a professional wrestler. Should I be judged on my appearance or for my abilities in the ring?
Video of Aguilar leaping off the ropes and driving Steven Christopher into the mat with a soaring reverse crossbody. He scores the pin and has his hand raised by the referee. The camera has zoomed in on Aguilar’s eyes. He continues to speak in voiceover.
DANNY AGUILAR
The fighting spirit of el León lives within me. Every opponent that stands across the ring from me, mask or no mask, it does not matter, I promise you’ll see el León.
CGI of two lions appear, one in each of Aguilar’s eyes. The lions audibly roar as the name DANNY AGUILAR is stamped across the screen before fading out.

We're back from break with a quick recap of what happened during commercials. Felix Bingham and Darnell Cane were on their way to the ring when Steven Christopher attempted to attack from behind, but Bingham quickly turned the tables on him and used his LR dojo ring jacket to begin choking Christopher. As referees and dojo students tried to break it up, Bingham slung him into the guardrail and retrieved his jacket. He said something to Cane before marching to the back, leaving Cane to relay the message to Brian Shelzi at the podium.
BRIAN SHELZI
Well, Sambo, Cane just said that Bingham isn't fighting tonight. If Aguilar wants a match one on one, he's happy to do it but he's not fighting a guy that jumps him from behind. So I guess this a rematch of last week... IF Christopher is able to compete.
Christopher gets up and shoves the aid away, rolling into the ring and demanding Aguilar get out here. Aguilar comes out and the referees ask him about competing, he says he wants to if Christopher is able. Christopher gets colourful, calling Aguilar some names... and a "failure" which clearly strikes a match in the former Super Leon as he angrily chucks his cape. Christopher notices, of course he does... and attacks him from behind! The bell sounds as Steven Christopher pummels Danny Aguilar in the corner then chucks him out onto the apron. Referee Robbie Morris warns him about the act, saying that if you toss him to the floor - it's a yellow card. Christopher laughs dismissively and goes to grab Aguilar, who clocks him with an elbow! Christopher goes down...
SLINGSHOT SOMERSAULT PLANCHA!
Guerrero-style, looking sweet. Aguilar pops to his feet and puts his hands on his knees as Christopher staggers up...
CIRCLE OF LIFE!
The backflip reverse DDT, the Destino - whatever. It connects! Aguilar grabs the leg and Morris counts!
1...
...
2...
...
3!
Aguilar rolls out of the ring and collects his cape, staring daggers into Christopher as he lays on the mat looking at the lights.
BRIAN SHELZI
I think those words cut him deep.
SAM HEWITT
It's a young man dealing with a lot of pressure, family name and heritage... so of course. He's trying to strike out on his own and everyone keeps reminding him of his history.
Aguilar lets out a roar before disappearing to the back.
